The Ag. Dept. is currently fixing up their greenhouse. Last year, some students powerwashed the panels to remove the dirt and to see how worn they were. So after seeing how broken they are, the greenhouse was stripped to its metal frame and cleared of some very pesky wasps.

There is just one slight hiccup in repairing the greenhouse. It needs corrugated clear panels. March 19, some panels were found and only a short walk from the school. So now the steps now needed are to save the money needed and rebuild the greenhouse.

Safe and Sober Dinner fundraiser will be held March 29

By Tyler Newman
Fortuna High will be having a Safe and Sober fundraiser this March 29 at the River Lodge. They need this fundraiser to help fund the Safe and Sober program this year, because it’s an expensive event. They will be having a tri tip dinner and will be hosting an auction. You can get your tickets, which help raise the money, at the front door. Dinner starts at seven o’clock and tickets will be $15.

Safe and Sober is a party for seniors after graduation. This year's event, June 13, will feature a mechanical bull, zip lines, and many prizes.

Huskies held first Career Fair

By Berenice Sanchez

On Wednesday, March 19, 2014 the Career Fair was held in the Damon Gym.  The Career Fair offered jobs to juniors and seniors that are willing to work. They got to talk to the person in charge of some local companies. The school’s staff planned this for awhile. The Career Fair was open to the community. It opened at 2:30 and closed at 5:00pm.

The students got a type of passport where the name of the company was written. All the students had to talk to five different people to get a sticker from the person. Many students were excited about the event. “I’ll probably get a job for the summer,” Beatriz said.

There was many prizes given out with raffle tickets, a DJ, delicious snacks made by some of our students, and an IPad as a grand prize. Ana said “I wish I’m the one that wins the IPad.” The Career Fair was pretty organized. Many students came out happy that they might get accepted at a job.

“It was a great experience” said a student.
